김그림은 흙에 안료를 섞어 다채로운 색의 흙을 만들고, 이를 한 줄씩 쌓아 올리는 방식으로 도자 의 감각을 확장합니다. 작가는 작업하는 순간의 감정과 이야기를 색에 담아 한 줄 한 줄 쌓아 올리 며 색의 층을 만들어갑니다. 그때그때 떠오르는 이미지는 직관적인 색채로 이어지고, 흙과 마주하 며 겪는 복잡하고 어지러운 감정 역시 색과 층 사이에 자연스럽게 스며듭니다. 이 과정에서 서로 다른 색의 층은 고유한 무늬를 이루고, 손의 움직임이 느껴지는 리듬을 만들어냅니다. 각기 다른 감정과 색이 차곡차곡 쌓인 작품은 다채로운 이야기를 품은 채 둥글고 단단한 형태로 완성됩니다. 작가는 작품을 마주한 이들이 그 안에 쌓인 색과 이야기를 따라가며 자신의 내면을 들여다보고, 그 속에서 새로운 감각을 발견하기를 바랍니다.

Kim Grim expands the sensibility of ceramics by mixing pigments into clay to create colored clay, building it up line by line. Infusing her emotions and narratives of the moment into color, the artist builds layer upon layer to create layers of color. Instantaneous images translate into intuitive colors, and the complex, turbulent emotions experienced when facing the raw clay seep between the colors and layers. In this process, the distinct chromatic bands form unique patterns, creating a rhythm that resonates with the movement of her hands. Built up with diverse emotions and colors, the work culminates in a solid, rounded form holding a rich variety of stories within. The artist hopes that those who encounter the work will look inward and discover new sensibilities within themselves.
