이 작품은 변화하는 기후 속에서 점점 불안정해지는 자연의 리듬을 바라봅니다. 한때 비교적 안정적이고 예측 가능했던 계절의 순환은 점차 흔들리고 있습니다. 겨울은 이전보다 따뜻해지고, 계절 사이의 경계는 흐려지며, 생태계는 변화한 환경 속에서 새로운 균형을 찾아야 하는 상황에 놓여 있습니다.
더 그립스는 이러한 변화 속에서 느껴지는 불확실성 자체에 주목합니다. 작품은 특정한 장소나 사건을 직접 보여주기보다, 자연이 휴면과 활동, 존재와 침식 사이에서 멈춰 선 듯한 상태를 표현합니다. 온전히 잠들지도, 다시 균형을 되찾지도 못한 채 경계에 머무는 순간입니다.
조각의 형태 역시 완결되거나 안정된 모습보다는 아직 진행 중인 과정처럼 보입니다. 작가는 이를 통해 끊임없이 변화하는 환경 속에서 자연이 유지하고 있는 취약한 긴장을 포착하고자 합니다. 이 작품은 우리가 익숙하게 여겨왔던 자연의 질서가 더 이상 고정된 것이 아닐 수 있다는 사실을 조용히 드러냅니다.
Never Gonna Snow Again, 2025

This work looks at the increasingly unstable rhythms of nature amid a changing climate. The cycle of the seasons, once relatively stable and predictable, is gradually becoming unsettled. Winters are warmer than before, the boundaries between seasons are blurring, and ecosystems find themselves needing to seek a new balance within this altered environment.
The Gribs focuses on the very uncertainty felt within this change. Rather than depicting a specific place or event directly, the work expresses a state in which nature seems suspended between dormancy and activity, existence and erosion—a moment caught at the threshold, neither fully asleep nor having regained its balance.
The form of the sculpture, too, looks less like something finished or settled than like a process still underway. Through this, they seek to capture the fragile tension that nature maintains within a constantly changing environment. The work quietly reveals that the order of nature we have long taken for granted may no longer be fixed.
