이 작품은 가벼움과 무거움, 드러남과 사라짐 사이를 오가며 강렬한 세라믹 색채로 시선을 사로잡습니다. 데이비드 라우어는 이러한 상반된 감각을 통해 우리가 예술과 현실을 어떻게 바라보고 받아들이는지 생각해보도록 관람자를 초대합니다.
작품을 만드는 과정에는 작가의 어린 아들도 함께했습니다. 아이는 작품 위에 유약을 자유롭게 흘려 부으며 예상할 수 없는 색과 흔적을 만들어냈습니다. 모든 과정은 즉흥적이고 빠르게 이루어졌고, 그 안에서 우연성과 놀이성이 자연스럽게 작품에 스며들었습니다.
작가는 이러한 제작 과정이 작품을 통해 말하고자 했던 자유로움과 동시에 쉽게 흔들리고 변할 수 있는 연약함을 잘 보여준다고 말합니다.

This work captivates the eye with intense ceramic colors that move between lightness and heaviness, revelation and disappearance. Through these contrasting sensations, David Rauer invites viewers to reflect on how we perceive and accept art and reality.
His young son took part in making the piece. The child poured glaze freely over the work, creating unexpected colors and marks. The whole process was spontaneous and fast-moving, allowing chance and playfulness to naturally seep into the work.
He says this process of making captures both the sense of freedom he wanted to express through the work and the fragility that can easily be shaken and changed.
