푸른색은 그 빛깔이 짙어질수록 우리를 더욱 내면의 세계로 이끈다고 합니다. 곽경화는 이러한 ‘푸른색’의 변주를 통해 영혼과 이상, 그리고 꿈을 표현하려고 합니다. 물과 같이 담담하게 흘러가는 일상에서 자연, 사물, 사람들의 다양한 이야기를 은유적으로 시각화했습니다. 미세하게 조절된 푸른색의 변주가 각각의 이야기를 담고 있으면서 전체적인 리듬을 조성하여 부분과 전체가 서로 유기적으로 연결되는 관계를 보여줍니다. 작은 물줄기가 흐르고 흘러 바다에 도달하는 여정처럼, 다양한 물의 흐름을 그려가다 보면 그 크기와 길이를 가늠할 수 없는 바다가 펼쳐집니다.

It is said that the deeper the color blue, the more intensely it leads to the inner side. Through this shade of ‘blue’, Kyung-hwa Kwak expressed the soul, ideals, and dreams. This piece is a metaphor for various stories about nature, things, and people in daily life, which flow tranquilly like water. Subtle variations of blue, each containing its own story, create an overall rhythm, revealing the organic relations between a part and the whole. By depicting diverse flows of water, she will eventually encounter a sea of unimaginable size and depth, like the a small stream that runs all the way to the sea.
