이 작품은 시간의 축적을 보여주는 자연의 지층에서 영감을 받아 제작되었습니다. 작품을 구성하는 대조적인 재료와 이미지를 통해, 역설에 대한 작가의 사유를 시각화했습니다. 색채를 미세하게 조절한 색 슬립을 키친타월에 반복적으로 덧바르고 겹쳐 여섯 개의 그라데이션 색층을 형성합니다. 그리고 수천 장의 종이를 위로 갈수록 폭이 넓어지게 겹겹이 쌓아 고온에서 소성하면, 축적된 층은 사라지고 그 흔적만이 남게 됩니다. 이러한 과정을 통해 서로 상반되는 요소들이 역설적으로 상호작용하면서 형성하는 작품이 완성됩니다.

Inspired by the stratified layers of nature that manifest accumulated time, this work visualizes the artist’s reflections on paradox through the contrasting materials and images that comprise the work. This piece is created by repeatedly applying and layering colored slip, with finely adjusted pigments, onto kitchen towels, forming six gradient-colored layers. Thousands of paper sheets, gradually widening toward the top, are then stacked and fired at high temperatures, leaving behind only the traces of the accumulated layers. This process results in a work that embodies the paradoxical interplay of opposing elements.
