<기억 080902>는 둥글고 감싸 안는 듯한 형태로 완만한 언덕을 연상케 하며 목가적이면서도 묵직한 존재감을 가집니다. 한국의 전통 생활용구인 돌 절구의 형태에서 영감을 받아 형상화한 작품으로, 기벽을 두드려 이중으로 처리하는 타렴기법을 사용해 양감이 풍부합니다. 테라 시질라타로 장식한 부드러운 질감과 강렬한 색채는 현대적인 조형에 원시성을 부여하여 역동적인 느낌을 줍니다. 전통적인 한국의 미감을 현대적인 조형 언어로 재해석한 작품입니다.

Having a rustic and lovingly familiar feeling, the round, inclusive, majestic shape of this work elicits a strong impression. Inspired from the shape of a traditional Korean stone mortar, this sculpture was made double-walled by the beating technique. The soft texture afforded by terra Sigillate clay slip and strong color imbues this contemporary sculpture with aboriginally, thereby imparting dynamic feeling. This is an outstanding piece in which traditional Korean beauty is reinterpreted in a modern way.
