<빛의 신체>는 물레의 회전과 함께 흙이 변화하는 과정에서 탄생한 작품입니다. 엘리시아 아타나토스는 물레를 단순한 제작 도구가 아닌, 흙과 힘, 속도와 중력이 서로 관계를 맺는 하나의 동반자로 여깁니다. 회전하는 동안 흙은 물에 의해 유연해지고, 불을 거치며 단단한 형태로 완성됩니다. 이 과정에서 만들어진 외부의 몸체는 내부의 비어 있는 공간을 감싸며, 그 빈 공간은 빛과 만나 비물질적이고 영적인 감각을 만들어냅니다. 작가에게 이 작품의 안과 밖은 서로 분리된 것이 아니라, 보이는 몸체와 그 안에 담긴 공간이 함께 이루는 하나의 존재입니다.

Body of Light is made using a spinning wheel. Elysia Athanatos chose a spinning wheel as a partner to treat clay. Herself, matters, strength, elements... We are all turned and tangled while the spinning wheel is running. Water weakens the form of soil. Fire makes it stronger and harder. Speed and gravity affect the balance of weight and force. This is all about internal and external relationships. The inside is an empty space, an empty sense, an empty space filled with light later, and an ethereal and spiritual essence. The outside is the body, and everything it contains is the body.
