조선 분청사기의 전통을 현대적 조형 언어로 확장해 온 이강효의 작품입니다. 작가는 전통 옹기 제작기법으로 형태를 빚은 뒤 손으로 표면을 다듬고, 힘 있는 붓질과 수화문 등을 자유롭게 구사하여 즉흥적이고 생동감 있는 표현을 완성합니다. 대담한 형태와 거친 표면의 질감에는 흙의 물성과, 제작 과정에서 이루어지는 작가의 신체적 움직임이 고스란히 드러납니다. 흙 자체가 지닌 자연스러운 질감과 에너지를 적극적으로 드러내는 것은 이강효 작품의 중요한 특징입니다.

This is one of the representative works of Kanghyo Lee who has expanded the tradition of bucheong ware of the Joseon dynasty into the realm of contemporary ceramic art. Formed using traditional ongi-earthenware techniques, the vessel is hand-refined and animated with bold brushwork and freely executed suhwamun-hand-painted motifs, resulting in an expressive and spontaneous composition. Its robust form and rough surface vividly reveal both the materiality of clay and the physical gestures of the artist. Emphasizing the natural texture and inherent energy of clay is a defining characteristic of Kanghyo Lee's work.
